WEaDance Collective: Student Information

What is the WEaDance Collective?
It is a student performance group to showcase WEAD students. It is an opportunity for faculty to choreograph for a small and commited group of students. It gives the students a chance to perform within the community and accumulate community service hours.
Where is the WEaDance Collective?
Rehearsals will be held at the studio of WEAD.
Venues will include: nursing homes, dance invitationals, small theatres, community events and in-house performances!
When is the WEaDance Collective?
Auditions will be held on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008--click here for application
Ballet - 1:00pm / Hip Hop - 2:00pm / Tap - 3:00pm / Jazz - 4:00pm
(Students must arrive 30 minutes prior to their desired discipline…Warmed up!)
- Collective will run October through January (tentatively)
- Rehearsals will be held on some Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays (Not ALL), exact dates will be posted as we know them.
- Performances will be on Saturdays or Sundays
Perks:
Travel, workshops, dance “lock-ins” with a pizza party, “Big sister-Little sister” companionships and attendance to local “live” performances
Students…
Must be enrolled in at least one class at WEAD
Must be at least 10 years old
Must choose one or two of the four dance disciplines to audition
Must sign a “contract” to show what is expected of them
Must pay $200.00 fee to cover performance costumes, production costs and choreographers fees
An additional $50.00 fee if you choose a 2nd dance discipline
