"Miss Carrie" Lester is a native of Richmond. She began her dance instruction with "Miss Mary" at the West End Academy of Dance in 1979. She studied Ballet, Jazz, and Tap at West End Acacemy. Her love of dancing continued in high school where she was a founding member of the Godwin Dance Team. Carrie served as assistant instructor with Amy Farley for several years and discovered a passion for tap dancing. Her tap instruction continued with Melanie Richards while attending Virginia Commonwealth University. Carrie's preferred style is rhythm tap, although she enjoys all styles. "Miss Carrie" also enjoys teaching her little ones in Pre-Ballet and watching them as they find their love of dance. Carrie and her husband Geoff live in the West End and have three children, Madelyn, Emily and Robert.
