Lauren Myers recently graduated magna cum laude from VCU with a bachelor's degree in Social Work. Currently, Lauren is in her sixth year of teaching at Chesterfield Dance Center where she teaches Tap, Lyrical and Ballet. She has done extensive local choreography, working with area high schools, dance teams, and competition groups. Lauren has danced since age 2. She began her training at CDC. She is an active and award winning choreographer for CDC's performance group dELERIUM.
Lauren is a graduate of the Appomattox Regional Governor's School where her love of dance and choreography flourished. For the past five years, Lauren has spent her summers in New York City training at Broadway Dance Center, Steps, Harlem Tap Studio, and the Alvin Ailey School. She has studied with such artists as Lynn Schwab, Michelle Dorrance, Barbara Duffy, and Jason Samuels Smith among many others. She also has attended Tap City, the New York City Tap Festival, for the past three years.
Lauren taught a Master Tap class this past Spring for West End Academy of Dance. We are pleased to welcome her energy and style to our faculty this year! |
