Liz Venini, studio owner, director, teacher, mentor, and choreographer is known to many of her students as having a “love for the art of dance which is hard to match”. She owns and operates Chesterfield Dance Center, which she has established eight years ago.
Prior to that, Liz trained with many jazz “greats” including Frank Hatchett of New York City, Ray Leper, Barry Lather, Danny Burcheski, Pam Turner, and none other than the legendary “Luigi”. She has also worked with members of the “Rocksteady Crew”, and continues to train every chance she gets, which is not easy with two adorable twin girls, and a devoted husband!
Liz has choreographed for The Richmond Speed, and Disney World. She recently participated and judged in the Macabee Games here in Richmond, Va.
She has performed in numerous shows, “industrials”, television commercials, theme parks and local dinner theatre productions. She has danced with “Motionmania Dance Theatre” and “Dupont Alley Dance Company” in Washington DC.
Many of her students have continued on to dance with National Broadway tours, on cruise ships, and in major universities such as VCU, University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and Shenandoah University.
Liz returns to the West End Academy, where she started her training at the age of twelve. After having been a figure skater in her home state of Michigan, her family moved to Richmond. She took ballet and jazz from Miss Mary, who felt that she was so talented that she asked Liz to teach the jazz classes while she was still just in her teens!
This season Liz will instruct Jr. Jazz, Sr. Jazz and Jazz Choreography. With her dynamic approach and her respect for technique, she will once again share her passion with students at WEAD. Fasten your seatbelts!! |
