Voltaire Wade-Greene has been dancing since he was eleven years old.
He started his dance training at Civic Dance Center in Bakersfield, California.
Many schools offered him scholarships. From among these he chose to study at The
Rock School for Dance Education; San Francisco Ballet; Orange School of Performing
Arts, and Dance Theatre of Harlem.
Among his teachers have been Violette Verdy, Christopher Fleming, Joaquin Laico (all
alumni of the New York City Ballet); Arthur Mitchell (New York City Ballet and also
Founder and Director of the Dance Theatre of Harlem); Keith Saunders (Dance Theatre
of Harlem); Jorge Esquivel (National Ballet of Cuba); Scott Jovovich (Joffery Ballet); and Jeffery Lyons (Pennsylvania Ballet).
He has made guest appearances with The Metropolitan Ballet Academy; Les Jeunes
Academy; Civic Dance Center; Orange School of Performing Arts; and the Bakersfield
Regional Ballet.
Voltaire has taught dance classes many years for the Orange School of Performing Arts
in central Virginia, and has taught at many workshops around the area. He is wonderful
with all age groups and can move easily between all dance styles.
He made a memorable guest appearance as “The Beast” in The West End Academy of
Danceʼs 2009 Recital, “Sleeping Beauty and the Beast”.
He will be teaching Jazz and Hip Hop this season at West End Academy of Dance. |
