Ballet Program

PRE BALLET – (Ages 3 ½ – 4 ½) Combines elements of dance with music, sound, imagery, and props to teach basic Ballet motor skills, movement patterns, rhythm, balance and dynamics. By exploring rhythms and styles, this class prepares children for all Level I classes, including Ballet, Jazz and Tap.

BALLET I, II and III – (Ages 5 – 10) Placement is made according to age and experience.

BASIC BALLET TECHNIQUE  – (Ages 10+)  Introductory to Basic Ballet skills. No previous experience required.

ADVANCED TEEN BALLET – (Ages 13+) Advanced Beginner level. Focus on classical technique. Previous Ballet experience required.

TEEN POINTE – (Ages 13+) An introductory class for learning Basic Pointe Skills. Must be enrolled in Advanced Basic Ballet.

**BALLET IV – (Ages 10 – 12) At least 2 years of ballet training in preparation for going up on Pointe. Placement will be made at Instructor’s discretion.

**INTERMEDIATE I BALLET – (Ages 10 – 13) a technique class for dancers with at least 3 “consecutive” years of ballet training.

**BEGINNING POINTE – (Ages 10 – 13) At least 2 “consecutive” years of ballet training. Beginning Pointe will start upon teacher’s approval.  First year Pointe students cannot buy Pointe shoes until they receive a signed recommendation letter (Pointe class will not begin with the Pointe shoes.)

**INTERMEDIATE II BALLET & POINTE – (Ages 11 – 14) A technique class for dancers with at least 2 “consecutive” years of ballet training. Pointe students will continue their work from the previous years, pointe shoes should be checked regularly to ensure they fit properly.

**INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED BALLET – (Ages 12+) Technique only. More than one ballet class per week is highly recommended. Placement will be made at Instructor’s discretion. Dancers begin to develop a vast understanding for classical ballet technique and vocabulary.

**INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED POINTE  (Ages 12+) Pointe only. You must take the appropriate ballet class in order to take the Pointe class. Placement will be made at Instructor’s discretion.

**ADVANCED BALLET /POINTE – (Ages 14+) Pre-Professional level. Most advanced level of Tech. & Pointe. Placement will be made at Instructor’s discretion.
